VIBE Magazine Closes

U.S. popular music magazine Vibe, which focused on hip-hip and R&B, is closing immediately, a spokeswoman said Tuesday.

Vibe's demise leaves only one print magazine covering the musical genres, The Source, The New York Times reported.

Magazine spokeswoman Tracy Nguyen told the Times the staff was to be formally notified Tuesday afternoon, adding it was unknown how many people would lose their jobs as a result. Read more here.

One of the most memorable Vibe covers is probably Toni Braxton's 1997 cover where she appeared "nude." Although Braxton went on the Oprah Winfrey show and refuted that she appeared nude, instead she insisted that her "nude bra and panty" were digitally erased. Either way, Toni Braxton's cover is one of the hottest magazine covers in history! A pregnant Toni Braxton also appeared on the cover in 2002 in support of her album More Than A Woman.

Real Housewives of New Jersey Fires Up!

Tonight Bravo aired the season finale of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, and it was definitely must see TV. The eruption that happened in this episode had been brewing up the whole season. The girls end up almost in a huge catfight because Danielle decides to bring the infamous book to a dinner lovely dinner that Teresa had planned. Voices are raised, tables thrown and friendships tested, if you missed this episode you totally have to make sure to catch it!

SDW: I think that Danielle was wrong to bring the book and confront the ladies at this lovely dinner that Teresa had planned. We all know she has a problem with Dina, so I think she should have come to Dina privately and talked about what had happened, instead of being very rude and bringing this up at the dinner and causing a scene. Make sure to catch the reunion special next week on BRAVO at 9/8c where I'm sure it will get heated again.

I was also excited about the new macbook pros that now have a non-removable battery that lasts up to 7hrs! Another great product that apple is rolling out is Snow Leopard, which is the newest OS for the MAC and will be available this September.

I'm BACK!

So for no particular reason, I have been absent from my blog for awhile... but now I'm back! Let me catch you up on what's been going on with me for the last two months. (Brace yourselves) I had my portfolio show, it went well. I graduated, amazing. I became unemployed, lame. The job search is long and annoying, of course. I managed to secure some freelance work, sweet. Memorial Day passed, now it's hot. Twitter brings me much pleasure, follow me! www.twitter.com/slickrich85 . I have lots of free time, I've lost some weight. I saw Lady GaGa in concert for a second time, got a cameo on a video with her. Kylie Minogue announced her first US tour, going to see her October 12th.

So I think that is a pretty good in a wrap what happened to me in the last two months, nothing too fancy. Well I hope you guys enjoyed that and keep looking here for more updates to come!
